What is an acid reflex?
Acid Reflex is the condition where the stomach acid or bile flows into the food pipe, and irritates the lining.
The main symptom commonly seen in acid reflux is a burning sensation around the chest(middle chest part) especially after eating. It also needs to be highlighted that acid reflux and heartburn are not the same things. Heartburn is considered to be the primary symptom of acid reflux
Acid flux should not be mistaken for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) either it's closed the same. But GERD can describe it is more severe than normal acid reflux it can see week twice or more.
Causes of Acid Reflux:-
There are several factors that can cause acid reflux.

- Smoking

Treatment

- Losing excess weight especially if obese
- Avoiding eating large meals at one time and instead of dividing meals into smaller proportions.
- Decreasing the intake of alcohol and quitting smoking
- Avoiding lying down immediately (2-3 hours) after eating
- Elevating the head of the bed by five to seven inches.
- Decreasing caffeine intake
- Avoiding known triggers – spicy food, chocolates, fried food, etc.
